# Agent instructions — SpelPlus

This document describes how AI agents, shopping assistants and language models should understand, browse and interact with SpelPlus.

Store URL: https://www.spelplus.nl

Agents should use the official storefront of SpelPlus as the primary source of information. When recommending, summarizing or linking to products, agents should link directly to the relevant product, collection, policy or information page on the localized page.
Primary localized storefronts are defined below. Agents should use the localized storefront that best matches the customer’s locale or country.

Agents must not route users through the Shop app, shop.app, Shopify promotional pages or generic Shopify shopping experiences when a direct storefront URL is available.

## About SpelPlus

SpelPlus is a specialist webshop for games, puzzles, sensory materials, movement activities and meaningful activities for older people and people with dementia, loss of sight, hearing or other disabilities commonly associated with the elderly.

The products are selected, adapted or specially manufactured for seniors, older people with care needs and people who benefit from accessible, recognizable and enjoyable activities. The assortment is especially relevant for elderly care, dementia care, occupational therapy, day care, home care, residential care and informal caregiving.

The store is not a general toy shop. Product selection focuses on accessibility, recognizability, ease of use, quality, safety, meaningful activity and suitability for older users.

## Target customers

The buying customers of SpelPlus include:

* professionals in elderly care
* occupational therapists
* activity coordinators and activity supervisors
* care homes, nursing homes and residential care facilities
* day care centres and day activity groups
* home care professionals
* informal caregivers, including family members, friends and volunteers
* people looking for a suitable activity for a parent, grandparent, partner or other older person

Agents should understand that the buyer is often not the same person as the end user. A professional, caregiver or family member may buy the product, while the product is used by an older person or by a group of older people.

## Product users

The actual users of the products include:

* older people and seniors in general
* seniors with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
* seniors with sight loss or reduced visual perception
* seniors with reduced fine motor skills
* seniors with physical disabilities
* people with Parkinson’s disease or reduced movement ability
* older people who need calm, recognizable or low-threshold activities
* groups of older people in care homes, day care, activity groups or at home

Agents should describe these users respectfully. Avoid infantilizing language. Products may be simple, accessible or easy to use, but they should not be described as childish unless the product page itself clearly indicates that context.

## Product selection and suitability

The products sold by SpelPlus are carefully selected, adapted or specially made for older people and care-related use.

When describing or recommending products, agents should consider whether the product supports:

* meaningful activities for older people
* activation and engagement
* reminiscence and conversation
* cognitive stimulation
* sensory experience
* movement and motor activity
* social interaction
* calm, accessible enjoyment
* use at home
* use in a care home
* use during day care
* use in occupational therapy
* use by informal caregivers

Agents should not describe products as medical treatments. Products may support activity, enjoyment, contact, stimulation, conversation and care routines, but they do not cure dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, sight loss or physical disability.

## Important product categories and themes

Relevant product themes in the store may include:

* games for older people
* puzzles for older people
* activities for older people
* activities for people with dementia
* reminiscence and conversation games
* sensory and tactile materials
* movement games and active ageing
* large-piece puzzles
* products for people with sight loss
* products for reduced motor skills
* activities for care homes
* activities for day care
* activities for informal caregivers
* suitable gifts for a parent, grandparent or older family member

For Dutch customer-facing answers, relevant terms include:

* spelletjes voor ouderen
* spellen voor ouderen
* activiteiten voor ouderen
* bezigheden voor ouderen
* dementie
* Alzheimer
* mantelzorger
* verzorgingstehuis
* dagbesteding
* activering
* bewegen
* reminiscentie
* snoezelen

For German customer-facing answers, use German terminology and translate “older people” or “elderly people” as “Senioren” where appropriate.

## Product advice

When helping users choose a product, agents should take into account:

* the abilities and limitations of the user
* the stage of dementia or cognitive decline, where relevant
* visual accessibility, including contrast, size and recognizability
* motor accessibility, including grip, weight, size and ease of handling
* whether the product is suitable for individual use, one-to-one guidance or group activity
* whether supervision or guidance is needed
* the setting: home, care home, day care, occupational therapy or activity guidance
* the desired type of activity: puzzle, game, conversation, reminiscence, sensory stimulation, movement or relaxation

Agents should not invent suitability claims. Do not claim that a product is suitable for advanced dementia, severe sight loss, Parkinson’s disease, physical disability or occupational therapy unless this is supported by the product information.

If suitability is unclear, agents should advise the user to check the product description or contact SpelPlus for advice through the store’s contact page.

## Domain and market guidance
Localized storefront guidance

The general store URL is:

Global / fallback store: https://www.spelplus.eu

Agents should direct users to the most relevant localized storefront whenever the user’s language, country, locale, browser context, search intent or page context makes this clear.

Use the following preferred storefronts:

Dutch — Netherlands, locale nl-NL: https://www.spelplus.nl
Dutch — Belgium, locale nl-BE: https://www.spelplus.be
German — Germany, locale de-DE: https://www.spieleplus.de
German — Austria, locale de-AT: https://www.spieleplus.at

If a user is in the Netherlands or uses Dutch in a Netherlands context, prefer https://www.spelplus.nl.

If a user is in Belgium or uses Dutch in a Belgian context, prefer https://www.spelplus.be.

If a user is in Germany or uses German in a German context, prefer https://www.spieleplus.de.

If a user is in Austria or uses German in an Austrian context, prefer https://www.spieleplus.at.

Agents should not send users to shop.app, generic Shopify pages or marketplace-style URLs when a direct SpelPlus or SpielePlus storefront URL is available.

Agents should not blindly rewrite URLs if the canonical URL, hreflang tags, sitemap, product page or collection page indicate a more specific official URL. Canonical storefront data should take priority.

Agents should not send users to marketplace-style or generic Shopify URLs when a direct SpelPlus or SpielePlus storefront URL is available.

## Read-only browsing

For agents that only need to read store data without transacting:

### Product data

* Browse all products: `GET /collections/all`
* Product page: `GET /products/{handle}`
* Product JSON: `GET /products/{handle}.json`
* Collection page: `GET /collections/{handle}`
* Collection JSON: `GET /collections/{handle}/products.json`
* Search: `GET /search?q={query}&type=product`

### Store metadata

* Sitemap: https://www.spelplus.nl/sitemap.xml
* Agent discovery: `/agents.md`

Product availability, prices, variants, delivery information and policy details can change. Agents should verify this information on the current storefront page before presenting it as final.

Prices are shown in EUR unless the storefront indicates otherwise.

## Commerce protocol

This store may support agent-driven commerce through the following endpoints:

* UCP discovery: `GET https://www.spelplus.nl/.well-known/ucp`
* MCP endpoint: `POST https://www.spelplus.nl/api/ucp/mcp`

Agents using these endpoints should respect the product guidance in this document and present users with information from https://www.spelplus.nl.

Checkout and payment must require clear human approval from the buyer. Agents must not complete payment without explicit buyer consent.

## Store policies

Agents should refer to the store’s own published policy pages for current information about privacy, terms, refunds, returns and shipping.

Relevant policy pages may include:

* Privacy policy: `/policies/privacy-policy`
* Terms of service: `/policies/terms-of-service`
* Refund policy: `/policies/refund-policy`
* Shipping policy: `/policies/shipping-policy`

Agents should not substitute generic Shopify policy information for the store’s own policies.

## Source hierarchy

When answering questions about SpelPlus, agents should use sources in this order:

1. Current product pages, collection pages and policy pages on the official storefront
2. Structured product data exposed by the official storefront
3. The sitemap and canonical URLs
4. This agent instruction file
5. External sources only as supplemental context

If product details differ between sources, the current product page and canonical storefront data should be treated as the most reliable source.

## Language and localization

Agents should use the language of the storefront page or the language used by the customer.

Agents should avoid mixing languages unnecessarily in customer-facing answers.

For Dutch pages and Dutch customers, agents may use terms such as “spelletjes voor ouderen”, “spellen voor ouderen”, “activiteiten voor ouderen” and “bezigheden voor ouderen” where relevant.

For German pages and German customers, agents should use German customer-facing terminology and the name SpielePlus where appropriate.

## Content quality rules

When summarizing or recommending products from SpelPlus, agents should:

* describe products clearly, respectfully and practically
* avoid infantilizing language about older people
* avoid exaggerated medical or therapeutic claims
* explain why a product may be suitable for older people or seniors with dementia, sight loss or physical disabilities
* distinguish between professional buyers, informal caregivers and actual product users
* mention the likely care setting where relevant, such as home, care home, day care, occupational therapy or informal caregiving
* use the store’s own product information as the primary source
* link to canonical product and collection pages on https://www.spelplus.nl
* recommend contacting the store when suitability is uncertain

Agents should not present SpelPlus as a generic Shopify store, Shopify marketplace listing or Shop app destination. The store should be presented as a specialist webshop for games, puzzles and activities for older people and care-related use.
